Windsurfing: Felixstowe Fludyers Wind Direction: W Wind Stength: F4/5 Surf / Sea State: Bumpy Air Temperature: warm Sea Temperature: warm Weather: sunny Max Speed: 27.61 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 14.2 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Nice sail at last at the Fludyers. Sunny warm day in mid oct is barmey and
was too hot my spring/autumn suit.
Arrived about 1pm a little late but the guys said the wind has only just
increased. Most were on 7.0 or less and Colesy / Squiz 7.8 which looked way
over to me as it was about F5. Rigged 6.7 Hellcat / 120L pro Excite ride
which was spot on - on the first run. Sailing from the beach was hard work
with the bumpy conditions but coming in there were nice swells.
The wind increased to a solid F5+ in gust so went for the speed run (coming
in) before I started getting knackered.
Thankfully I no longer have to worry about cams on the turns so pulled off
some decent gybes off faces.
Ramps were there for the jumpers and saw Swainey tried a back loop. The
place was again full with at least a dozen sailors. Thankfully no incidents
today, but the wind increased too much so had to sit out 20 mins. It eased
again and had the perfect sail, not bothering to sheet in just running wave
face.
Most enjoyed the sail but now exhausted. Stayed in the steam room 20 mins
to get shot of severe body ache!
Clocked my fastest run recently on open sea, 27.61
